Project on the house that is! Brett wanted to take out a small portion of the entry way ceiling because it was leaking. He ended up ripping out EVERYTHING! The morons before us decided to just put plastic up near the leak instead of fixing the roof. What happens when you do that??! Lots of mold! Well not anymore because Brett tore it all out. The bonus though is we get to have a vaulted ceiling in the entry way! WHOO HOO! The scary thing is we don't think any of the additions are up to code....not even close.....I hope we don't find anymore surprises!
The paler brick is the original house, the red brick an addition. You can't see it in the picture but the corner where they meet is not held together by anything....the morter has pulled away
They primed the house for painting and then built the entry way. At one time the porch was the outside porch and the entry way. Somebody enclosed part of the porch. I think they had to knockout half a wall to have it go into the front room. I'm hoping there was a window there already.
